This summer, Paprika took a huge step in opening our own little retail space on beautiful Gabriola island! It's the cutest little space totally customized and built to my silversmithing specs with retail gallery in the front and my workspace in the back half! It's lovely to have my work space away from home, and to also have the opportunity to sell my work retail year round. If you ever find yourself on Gabriola Island, drop by! Along with my jewellery line (Paprika) i will be carrying the work of other select artists - silver jewellery by Wendy Stok of Thistle Handmade and Emma Glover Designs, and some beautiful ceramic work by Heather Dahl (Dalhhaus) and Grace Lee (Eikam ceramics).
I know it's along way off at this point, but to a craftsperson Christmas is coming up FAST!!! 'Tis the season of huge preparation in the studio trying to supply galleries with enough stock to see them through the busy season as well as filling custom orders and preparing for multiple craft fairs! I cant complain though, I love the rush of being busy and creating! That being said, i'm taking easy in the craft fair department this year as I'm still getting used to juggling my large workload with my new baby and kindergartener! I could easily book myself up for a craft show in a different city every weekend from now until Christmas, but this year I'm sticking close to home. So here's my craft show line up for this season:
October 11,12,13 | Gabriola Studio Tour | Gabriola Island
November 23 | Private Home Show | Nanaimo (email me for an invite!)
December 6 | Gabriola Christmas Craft Fair | Gabriola Elementary School
And that's IT!!!!! However, I have a WHOLE bunch of new galleries carrying my work across Canada so I'll be supplying them with lots of jewellery in the next few weeks. And there's always the option of ordering online from me!
This year I did a huge marketing push to find great galleries and boutique stores to carry my work. I'm happy to say you can now find my work at some more fabulous places!
BC Craft Council's Crafthouse Gallery - Vancouver, BC
3 Singing Birds - Whistler. BC
Twigg & Hottie - Vancouver, BC
Distill Gallery - Toronto, Ontario

Made You Look - Toronto, Ontario
Curiosities - London, Ontario
Dragonfly Arts - Orangeville, Ontario
Wow.....so much has happened since my last post, but mainly...I had a beautiful baby boy! Oscar Hawkins Moore was born at home on Feb 22 in the middle of a snowstorm - it was pretty epic! Needless to say, I've taken a couple months off work to enjoy motherhood, but I'm already coming up with new designs and itching to get back into the shop! We are all doing well, and so in love with our boy, especially his big sister Hanna!!!
I'm beginning to feel like a real Jet-setter! Toronto last weekend, Victoria this weekend!
Today is day 1 of the Out of Hand Show at Victoria BC's Crystal Gardens. My booth is all set up and ready to go, although i had such a successful show in Toronto last weekend that I hardly have enough jewellery to fill my booth! So I've incorporated some of my good friends work into my display:
Hayden Harvey's funky style adds a whole new element to my booth - check out her button necklace and peacock feeather earrings if you make it to the show!
Margo Anfossie is the creator of Panacea herbs, an incredible line of handmade, organic skincare using high quality oils, butters and herbs. Her products will be gracing my display as well this weekend! ( www.panaceaherbs.ca )
Alchemy Adornment is my latest business venture with body piercer and business owner Darren Rinaldi ( www.tattoopiercer.com ) We've been designing and making beautiful high-end body jewellery using white gold, yellow gold and a huge variety of precious and semi-precious stone including diamonds, sapphires, and opals! I have a variety of different nostril screws (earrings for the nose) to choose from at my display!
So wish me luck! Here I gooooooooo.......
On November 18th I'll be exhibiting my work Toronto, in the beautiful home of a good friend for a one day exclusive show & sale! This will be a first for me, but I'm really looking forward to it! Between myself and the host, we've invited over 150 people to drop by, have a glass of wine, look at some pretty things and shop for xmas presents! I fly into Toronto no the 17th, have the show on the 18th, and fly home on the 19th! It will be a whirlwind trip, but definitely lots of fun! On another note, it will be the first time I'll be away from my daughter overnight...we'll see how daddy manages on his own for the weekend!!!
